Taiwan Moutai (Mautai - Taiwanese spelling) Liquor was the same as Kweichow Moutai liquor. Back to 1949, when the Kuomintang government retreated to Taiwan, Chiang Kai Shek moved the Kweichow Moutai distillery to Taiwan that including the Brewers, Brewing formula, Bellar mud, Koji, Koji making facilities and equipment, storage containers, water samples, seeds, surrounding plants etc. It was to say that they excavated the ground three feet inside and outside the distillery, and transported all the soil to Taiwan.
